
Position Overview
As a Partnerships Officer, you will support the Director for External Relations in growing and consolidating GenEI’s network and visibility beyond our internal community. You will identify and cultivate partnerships with organisations, institutions, and individuals who share our vision, while managing our Advisory Board and helping represent GenEI in external-facing contexts.
The position is voluntary, with an expected commitment of 4-5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop GenEI’s existing and future partner relationships, ensuring follow-through on commitments and identifying opportunities for deeper collaboration.
- Manage GenEI’s Advisory Board — serving as the key liaison between advisors and the organisation, coordinating communications, scheduling, and ensuring advisors remain engaged and informed.
- Work closely with other committees to align external partnership opportunities with GenEI’s ongoing projects, events, and strategic goals.
- Help draft partnership proposals, MOUs, and external correspondence in line with GenEI’s tone and objectives.
- Track and report on the status of partnerships and external relations activities, maintaining an up-to-date overview of GenEI’s external network.
Post-Specific Requirements
- Familiarity with (or strong willingness to quickly learn) the EU–India institutional landscape, including key organisations, universities, think tanks, and policy actors.
- Experience in partnerships, stakeholder engagement, institutional relations, or a related field — formal or informal.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with confidence engaging senior professionals and external stakeholders.
- High degree of political awareness and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to represent an organisation professionally and diplomatically in a multicultural, international context.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple relationships and workstreams simultaneously.
- Comfort with tracking partnerships and translating activities into clear, structured overviews (e.g. pipelines, status updates, engagement levels).
General Requirements
- Passion for EU-India relations and youth engagement.
- Be a national of any of the 27 EU Member States, India, or a country recognised as an EU membership candidate.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
