Generation EU-India (GenEI), in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Office in Brussels, successfully hosted the public event “The Next Phase of EU-India Relations: A Brussels Conversation”.
Bringing together policymakers, researchers, diplomats and young professionals, the discussion reflected on the evolving trajectory of EU-India relations following the January Summit in New Delhi and the launch of the Joint EU-India Comprehensive Strategic Agenda. The conversation explored how EU institutions are engaging with India across key areas such as trade, technology, connectivity and defence, while situating the partnership within the EU’s broader Indo-Pacific approach.
The panel featured Charles Whiteley (European External Action Service), Garima Mohan (German Marshall Fund), and Lizza Bomassi (EU Institute for Security Studies), and was moderated by Patrizia Cogo (GenEI & CIDOB). The discussion also drew on insights from GenEI’s White Paper, Two to Tango: EU-India Relations in 2025 and Beyond, highlighting both opportunities for deeper cooperation and the challenges that remain in translating political ambition into tangible outcomes.
The event concluded with a networking reception, offering participants the opportunity to continue the exchange in an informal setting.
