Open Positions

1. Editor-in-Chief

Commitment: 6 hours per week, Voluntary
As the Editor-in-Chief, you will lead our Editorial Committee, overseeing all editorial activities and ensuring high-quality, relevant content that aligns with GenEI’s mission. This role is perfect for someone passionate about EU-India relations and eager to empower youth voices through impactful content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Editorial Committee and manage contributions.
  • Develop and implement an editorial strategy.
  • Ensure high editorial standards and community engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD preferred – Others are also welcome to apply.
  • Background in journalism, communications, or international relations. (If you are not from this field but are motivated to take on this task, please feel free to apply).
  • Experience with youth-led or non-profit organizations is an added advantage.

2. Head of Communications

Commitment: 6 hours per week, Voluntary
The Head of Communications will shape and implement strategies that amplify GenEI’s mission, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging across all platforms. This role suits someone creative, strategic, and media-savvy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies.
  • Oversee content creation and ensure cohesive brand presence.
  • Manage media relations and address communication challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in communications, public relations, marketing, or related fields.
  • Experience working with youth-led or non-profit organizations.
  • Familiarity with EU-India relations and international communications.

3. Head of Events

Commitment: 6 hours per week, Voluntary
The Head of Events will lead the Events Committee to organize impactful activities such as webinars, debates, study visits, and the EU-India Youth Forum. If you’re passionate about bringing people together and managing engaging events, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop event strategies and timelines.
  • Oversee event logistics and team coordination.
  • Evaluate event outcomes and implement improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in event management, public relations, or a related field.
  • Experience working with youth-led or non-profit organizations.
  • Familiarity with EU-India relations and international event planning.

General Requirements for All Roles:

  • Passion for EU-India relations and youth engagement.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Open to individuals aged 18 to 35 within the EU and India. If you are outside this age bracket but would still like to apply, please reach out to us separately.

  • A description of one social media campaign you are most proud of, or a mock communication plan for an hypothetical organizational event or campaign for GenEI (including key messages, target audiences, inter alia).

For Head of Events:

  • Your CV.
  • A cover letter (300-500 words) explaining your motivation for the role.
  • A list of three event topics you plan to organize during your time at GenEI and an explanation of how you would implement them.
